1. Introduction

Welcome to TuneSage, a browser extension that enhances your Spotify Web Player experience with AI-powered insights and lyrics translation. This Privacy Policy explains how TuneSage handles data and protects your privacy.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

TuneSage is designed with privacy in mind. We do not:

• Collect or store any personal information
• Track your browsing history
• Collect your Spotify account credentials
• Share any data with third parties
• Use analytics or tracking tools
• Store your music listening habits

3. Data Storage

TuneSage stores the following information locally on your device only:

• User Preferences: Your chosen language settings, query templates, and target translation languages
• Custom ChatGPT URL: If you configure a custom ChatGPT project URL
• Query Cache: Temporary cache of song/album query results to improve performance

All this data is stored locally using Chrome's storage API and is never transmitted to any external servers owned by us.

4. Permissions Explained

TuneSage requires certain permissions to function. Here's what each permission is used for:

4.1 Website Access Permissions

• Spotify (open.spotify.com): To read currently playing track/album information and display lyrics
• ChatGPT (chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com): To send queries and receive AI-generated insights about music
• Google Translate API: To translate lyrics between different languages

4.2 Browser Permissions

• Storage: To save your preferences and settings locally
• Side Panel: To display the TuneSage interface alongside Spotify
• Tabs: To detect and interact with Spotify tabs
• Scripting: To inject functionality into Spotify and ChatGPT pages

5. Third-Party Services

TuneSage interacts with the following third-party services:

5.1 Spotify

TuneSage reads information from the Spotify Web Player that is already visible on your screen, such as track names, artist names, album titles, and lyrics. This information is processed locally in your browser.

5.2 ChatGPT / OpenAI

When you request song or album insights, TuneSage sends the track/album information to ChatGPT through your browser. This interaction is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy. TuneSage does not store or log these queries.

5.3 Google Translate

When you use the lyrics translation feature, TuneSage sends lyrics text to Google Translate API for translation. This is subject to Google's privacy policy.

6. Data Security

Since TuneSage does not collect or transmit data to our servers, there is minimal security risk. All data processing happens locally in your browser, and any communication with third-party services (Spotify, ChatGPT, Google Translate) is done directly from your browser using HTTPS.

7. Children's Privacy

TuneSage is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
